My SMART goal example from above is specific (blog posts), measurable (two), achievable (two posts per week is an attainable goal for me), relevant (increase the reach of my blog), and time-bound (each week).

If I had said I wanted to post 16 blog posts per week, the goal is specific, it's measurable, it's relevant still, and it's time-bound, but it's not achievable for me as I don't have the time required in a week to publish that many posts. It's not a SMART goal.

By using this framework, you can set goals that are well-defined, attainable, and aligned with your values and priorities. This will help you stay motivated and focused as you work towards achieving success.

You get close to finishing and then decide that one of the modules should really be split and now you're going to end up with five modules. The scope continues to change, costing you more (in time and money) and delaying the completion of the goal.

Another common roadblock is overspending. This can happen when the resources needed to achieve the goal are not properly estimated, leading to unexpected costs. To avoid overspending, it's important to carefully plan and budget for the resources needed to achieve the goal.
